Do I need a visa to visit UAE?

GCC citizens do not need a visa to enter the UAE. Some of the other nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival while others need to apply for a visa in advance.

During the summer months (April to September), loose, cotton clothing is recommended. On the other hand, for your winter trip to Abu Dhabi, you must have a light jacket. In Abu Dhabi, the dress code is quite liberal; most normal clothing is tolerated provided it is modest and not too outrageous. However, With respect to the underlying values of modesty, it is best to remain covered from shoulder to at least below the knees. If you are visiting a Mosque, one is required to follow the recommended dress code. One should wear a modest, conservative, loose fitting clothing, long sleeves, long skirts and trousers. Women are required to wear the traditional dress (abaya) and headscarf (Shayla) before entering the mosques.

UAE law strictly forbids the intake of alcohol in public spaces and while driving. However, alcohol consumption is permitted in bars attached to hotels, clubs and restaurants.
